What is the mission of Reaktions.com?

To present Reaktor-centric pieces of original electronic music in all styles/genres.

What is a Reaktor-centric piece?

A piece whose main audible material is generated in Reaktor. If you have any questions about this, email them to reaktions@reaktions.com.

How can I download Reaktions.com pieces to my computer?

PC users: right-click on the piece and choose Save Target As (or the equivalent) from the shortcut menu. Mac users: option-click on the piece.

How much do I have to pay to contribute pieces to Reaktions.com?

Nothing. But I do encourage you to contribute money to help defray my expenses (and time) creating and maintaining the site. $5 to $10 seems appropriate; give more or less (or nothing at all); it's up to you. Paypal your contribution to reaktions@reaktions.com. (If you are not a Paypal member, you can join for free at www.paypal.com.) Credit cards are accepted.

How many pieces can I submit to Reaktions.com?

A total of 20 mb worth. Depending on the file format you use, this is anywhere from about 10-20 minutes of stereo music.

What format should I submit my pieces in?

Reaktions.com accepts mp3 files exclusively. Audio quality is important, so please submit stereo mp3s with a bit rate of 160 kbps or higher, fixed or variable (vbr).

How do I submit my mp3s?

Send them to me at rachmiel@hotmail.com. Or upload them to the web and email me the links at reaktions@reaktions.com. Or mail them to me (as mp3s on a data cd) at: rachMiel, c/o F'loom, P.O. Box 10005, Rochester, NY 14610.

What else must I submit?

For each piece, a list of the Reaktor ensembles/instruments that were used to create it. For example: Created using the Reaktor ensembles Grainstates (Brinkmann) and Carbon (Daliot). Feel free to include more details on the piece's genesis: non-Reaktor programs you used, analog equipment you ran it through, etc. But the Reaktor ensemble/instrument listing is all that's required.

A brief bio (with image, if desired), email address, and set of links (to your web page, bands, etc.) to go on your Reaktions.com home page (each contributor gets one).

Are Reaktions.com pieces copyrighted?

They are copylefted ... meaning that you can copy, distribute, and modify the music you download from Reaktions.com for noncommercial purposes. For details, see the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike License.

If you intend to use anything you download from this site commercially, you must get explicit written permission from the composer to do so. Composer emails reside on their home pages.
