As Chimp Logic, I compose various forms of electronic music, play bass guitar, and seek to collaborate with choreographers, filmmakers, musicians, and installation artists.

Having played and composed for over fifteen years, I have written in many musical styles and performed in a variety of venues such as The House of Blues, The Goodman Theatre, and Maxim's The Nancy Goldberg International Center. I have worked with both national and international artists, and my original scores have been presented at the American Dance Festival, National Dance Week, North Carolina Dance Festival, and the Durham Arts Council, and others.

Collaborating both excites and challenges me, so I would like to continue working in this capacity.

When I am not busy doing those activities, I keep my opposable digit on the pulse of the intersecting spheres of culture, science, philosophy, and technology.

Bear with Me (8.28 mb) - Ensembles: clixline v.0.1 - Martin Brinkman, ginger v.1 - Martin Brinkman,
rlxp2 v.0.1 - Martin Brinkman, Pre Skool II v.0.1 - Ba, Resovative III v.3 - Dieter Zobel.

Using much of the same approach as with Blind Watchmaker, I wanted to continue exploring the idea of minimal structured composition techniques for this song, hence the title. Allowing the ensembles to lend their voices more then me imposing my ideas through them, I again tweaked a bit and then wound them up and let them run. I captured their output over a period of time and arranged the source in the timeline via Ableton Live as the sequencer.

This track has a very subdued, languid vibe to it and so I also did not do any major mixing/mastering of the piece. Preferring instead to again let the tonal variations and rhythms speak for themselves.

Blind Watchmaker (8.7 mb) - Ensembles: Autobass v.2- Dieter Zobel, Knartz 4 v.3- Dieter Zobel, Hazeline II v.2 - Dieter Zobel, Auralis v2.1 - Kristian Thom.

For this track, I approached it with the philosophical idea of a blind watchmaker in mind: tweak, modify, and then wind up the machines and let them run. I simply captured their output over a period of time and arranged the source in the timeline via Ableton Live as the sequencer.

In keeping with the theme, vocalist Khoral (http://www.khoral.net) approached the song on an improvisational level himself, doing only 2 live, first take passes for the vocal parts. One sung pass and one spoken recitation pass.

No major mixing mastering was done so as to keep the raw, loose feel to the song. We really wanted the tonal palette to speak for itself.
