self oscillate's real name is Ingo Zobel. He was born 1969 in Germany. 1983 he bought his first computer and discovered a whole new kind of sound with it. These quirky computer sounds had a deep impact on him and he liked it much more than usual pop or rock music. 1987 he started collecting electronic music on vinyl, mixing and dj-ing. 1993 he bought an Ensoniq ASR10 sampler. This was his first real musical instrument and since then he is obsessed by studio gear and all kinds of synthesizers. 1997 the "drøn" project was founded by Frrederik Dahlke, Christoph Abert and Ingo Zobel. in 1999 "drøn" was signed by Elektrolux records and since then they have released three albums and contributed tracks for many compilations, also for the television broadcasts of "Space Night " and "Flowmotion". Since 2001 he is addicted to Reaktor. 2004 he released a solo album on the UK label Shima Records. He describes his music as a personal recombination of different electronic music styles, the most recognisable ingredients being electronica and ambient. Ensembles used: Gabi40c2 (from Siegmar Kreie, edited by bubu from bubuland) (taken from r3 user lib), Intelekt (from Clapan, edited by self oscillate) (original taken from r4 user lib), Syncskipper 002 beta (from self oscillate) (version 001 is available at the r4 user lib). First the synth line was performed live with Gabi40c2 on Reaktor 3 standalone and recorded in the Reaktor recorder box. Second the beats were recorded with Intelekt on Reaktor 4 standalone, again in the recorder box. Third the beats were processed through Syncskipper on Reaktor 4 standalone and recorded in, guess what ... the recorder box. Fourth the recorded parts were bounced into one stereo file on Logic 5.5.1, with slight adjustment of panning and volume. The track is NOT normalized or mastered. |
